Reach has combined its recently acquired Northern & Shell sales team with its Trinity Mirror Solutions operation to form a single entity under the leadership of chief revenue officer, Andy Atkinson.
Trinity Mirror, which rebranded as Reach earlier this year, elevates Atkinson who has been at the company for four years. He now takes the lead of the joint team, while Toby Morris, commercial director of Northern & Shell, leaves the group. It comes as Reach absorbs N&S assets.
Atkinson said: "The newly combined sales team will give advertisers access to over 45 million people in the UK a month. As well as this valuable scale the portfolio represents diversity via nine politically and culturally different national newsbrands, the opportunity to reach people in the most trusted media environment via our 140 regional newspapers, and brand safety via our network of 60 professionally produced websites."
Simon Fox, chief executive of Reach, commented on the departure of Morris: "Toby has done an outstanding job leading the Northern & Shell commercial team over the past three years, and he has built a sales team who are highly respected across the market. I would like to thank Toby for everything he has done and he departs with our very best wishes for the future."
It comes as The Guardian, News UK and The Telegraph partnered to create a combined ad network called The Ozone Project to better tee up their inventory for advertisers.
