Sohn has been asked to oversee all agency operations with a focus on growing new and existing business and expanding the agency’s social and digital capabilities.

Sohn has over 20 years of experience on agency and client-side roles, most recently as the managing director of SapientRazorfish in Chicago. He also served as business lead for Smuckers, Gojo (parent company of Purell hand sanitizer), Children’s Hospital Colorado and Ohio Health.

Prior to that, he served as Ogilvy Chicago’s executive vice president of digital and social, leading teams on Huggies, SC Johnson, CDW, Ford, and Mariott.

He’s been slated to start on June 11, and will report to Seth Solomons, Wunderman’s chief executive for North America.

"Ian brings a passion for people, culture and work that is inspiring," said Solomons. "His ability to build deep and meaningful relationships with his teams and his clients is something i know will help take Wunderman Chicago to the next level."

Sohn added: “I’m really energized by the challenge of shaping the future of what Wunderman Chicago will be. Seth and other members of his team laid out a very clear and compelling vision of what Wunderman is and where it’s going. The opportunity to apply that vision to Wunderman Chicago – my hometown and a thriving, vital city for marketers – is a professional challenge I’m excited to tackle.”

Last month, Wunderman added Helder Santo to lead its New York office.
