Verizon released a new minute-long video as a tribute to those serving the country and its role connecting them to their families.
As a part of the wireless carrier’s Military Appreciation Month, Verizon worked with the Wounded Warriors Project to stitch together a montage of military family reunions, all taken through mobile devices. Starting with one set of parents in silent shock as their son returns from a tour, the spot hops from surprised family to surprised family as their loved ones return from time served abroad.
In the closing clip — a young son chatting with his parent through Facetime — the company gives a nod to its employees, 11,000 of them veterans, who connect soldier to family.
Aside from the spot, which encourages donations to the Wounded Warriors Project, Verizon awarded 16 military mothers with tech makeovers for Mothers Day, and set to collect $250,000 from its phone sales to the charity.
Leading to Memorial Day on Monday (May 28), Verizon has set up “fallen comrades tables” at work locations throughout the country, as a way to visually to honor fallen heroes and tell their stories.
