This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Confused.com

Confused.com has hired Sam Day as its chief marketing officer, replacing Paul Troy who left earlier this year.

Day comes to the company after five years as director of customer acquisition at insurance firm, RAC. He also brings with him experience from AA, Microsoft and HSBC.

Just Eat

Just Eat's global chief marketing officer has left the company after three years at the helm.

Barnaby Dawe most notably led Just Eat's rebrand in a bid to bolster its global reach and its connection with consumers. In the background the company has been experimenting with new tech like augmented reality, voice, chatbots and prime-time sponsorships like The X Factor.

Futurice

Siddharth Asokan has been named global marketing director at Futurice, joining from ThoughtWorks where he held a similar role, global head of marketing.

In the role, Asokan will be tasked with continuing the brand’s planned expansion internationally.

Easyjet

Lis Blair has been promoted from CRM and insight director to chief marketing officer at Easyjet.

Elsewhere, ex-Experiean head of analytics, Luca Zuccoli has joined the airline service as chief data officer.

Exterion Media

Exterion Media has bolstered its team with Alex Russel and Sharon Wright both appointed to senior sales roles.

Russel will take on the client sales director job while Wright has been appointed as head of digital sales.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Victoria Milligan has been appointed as marketing and communications director for media brands, UK and Ireland at Dentsu Aegis Network.

Milligan will be charged with the marketing strategy of the agency's media brands.

Accenture

Lisa De Bonis has left Havas to join Accenture Interactive as managing director.

De Bonis held the role of executive digital director at Havas London and was one of the founding partners of Work Club, which Havas acquired in 2014.

Kantar Media

Kantar Media has announced that Louise Ainsworth has been appointed chief executive of EMEA, effective June 25.

Joining directly from her present role as chief executive of Kantar Millward Brown, Ainsworth brings a wealth of experience in digital media, audience measurement, brand management and communications in tow.

Essence

GroupM owned data agency Essence has confirmed the hire of Ali Reed and Tony Roberts to join its leadership team, part of a concerted push into integrated media.

Reed will serve as head of client services while Roberts joins as head of strategy, both serving Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Realeyes

Barry Coleman has joined Realeyes as chief operating officer from LootCrate.

The news comes as the tech company announces a £12m funding round led by Draper Esprit.

Red Badger

Dr James Muldoon has joined Red Badger as director of insights.

Previously a director and founder of eCapacity UK, Muldoon will bring his wealth of experience to continue the agencies planned growth.

Tunecore

Digital music distribution and publishing company, Tunecore, has hired Nathan Barley Phillips as entertainment relations manager.

In the role, he will oversee artist and brand relations in the UK.

Cath Kidston

Cath Kidston has announced its director of marketing, Sue Chidler, will be leaving the company.

Having joined the retailer in 2011, the fashion brand has confirmed Chidler's departure is not connected to chief executive, Kenny Wilson's pending departure.

APAC people on the move

APAC

DDB Sydney

DDB Sydney has appointed Nick Russo as managing partner on Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Russo joins the agency from M&C Saatchi, where he worked for 10 years and was group head leading the Lexus business.

Mediacorp

The company is creating an integrated marketing organisation that brings together the majority of its marketing and communications personnel under the leadership of Debra Soon, who will take on the newly-created role of chief marketing officer.

Succeeding Soon as chief customer officer is Irene Lim, who has been promoted from her role as head of Chinese audience.

Huobi Group

The blockchain asset solutions provider has announced that Chris Lee is joining the company as board secretary and vice president of global business development. In this role, Lee will lead Huobi Group’s global M&A strategy and oversee the development of international teams.

Campaigns & Grey Philippines

John Tenchavez Lucas has been appointed as the new chief executive of Campaigns & Grey (C&G) Philippines, while Jose Carlo (Boboy) Consunji will be taking on the role of non-executive director.

Lucas, who was previously chief growth officer at DDB Group Philippines, will work closely with Nirvik Singh, chairman and chief executive, Grey Group Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, to drive the ongoing digital transformation of the company, be responsible for the agency’s continued business growth as well as oversee the deepening of C&G’s creative offerings and processes.

Bonsey Design Partnership

Graham Hitchmough has joined the design agency as chief operating officer. He will help in developing strategies for growth, collaboration and client delivery across the operation and extending areas of expertise.

Maybank

The Malaysia-based bank has appointed Dato’ John Chong Eng Chuan as its new group chief executive officer of Community Financial Services (CFS), effective 18 July, taking over from Datuk Lim Hong Tat who will retire from Maybank effective that same day.

VaynerMedia

VaynerMedia has announced the hiring of Aaron Kovan, former executive vice president and head of integrated production at McCann Worldgroup, as its first-ever chief production officer.

Kovan left his post after four years in charge of McCann’s m:united production practice, and had spent time in production roles at GSD&M and Crispin Porter and Bogusky. As VaynerMedia’s chief production officer, Aaron has oversight over production there, as well as its studio, VaynerProductions.

Dunkin Donuts

Dunkin’ Donuts has named Drayton Martin its vice president of brand stewardship, a new role at the company.

She joins from MullenLowe, where she most recently served as executive director. During her time at the agency, she worked with brands including JetBlue, Century21, and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

MullenLowe

MullenLowe LA, part of the global MullenLowe Group network, has announced a group of new key creative hires: Gustavo Sarkis, senior vice president, executive creative director, Acura; Barton Corley, head of copy, MullenLowe US; Jeff Beberman, vice president, group creative director; and Meaghan Diamond, vice president, creative recruiter.

All will work closely with MullenLowe US chief creative officer Mark Wenneker and executive creative director Margaret Keene to deliver award-winning creative, helping to attract new talent and support the office’s rapid growth.

Warschawski

Baltimore-based agency Warschawski has added Hanly Heubeck as senior associate. In her role, Heubeck will oversee client relations, and will create and execute integrated marketing communications campaigns that include PR, social, influencer and digital marketing for the agency’s clients.

My Friend's Nephew

Atlanta-based omnichannel creative agency My Friend's Nephew (MFN) announced the appointment Allison Brennan as director of insights and strategy. The newly created position comes at a time of growth for the independent shop.

VML

VML has announced several senior-level client engagement promotions and hires. Stephanie DeCelles has been promoted to managing director, client engagement, while Rich Fabritius has been promoted to managing director, client engagement. Kate Frazier joins VML as managing director, client engagement.

Sharon Yee joins VML as managing director, client engagement and Mark Serres has been hired as group director, client engagement.

Pandora

Lauren Nagel has been promoted to vice president, executive creative director. Nagel was previously the group creative director and joined Pandora in 2011 as one of the company’s first creatives. She will report directly to chief marketing officer, Aimee Lapic.

In her new role, Nagel will be responsible for overseeing Pandora’s creative offerings in an increased capacity, elevating and applying the unique learnings of storytelling on the Pandora platform across the brand and original content offerings.

Sprinklr

Vivek Kundra has been appointed as chief operating officer at Sprinklr.

Joining from Salesforce where he held the role of executive vice president and chief innovation officer, Kundra will work on growth of the agency as well as hoping to build the human experiences it has to offer.
