Full-service communications agency We Are Boutique are aiming to raise £1000 by trekking Yorkshire’s infamous Three Peaks in aid of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), the charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. The announcement comes during mental health awareness week (14 to 20 May), which aims to put the spotlight on and help those suffering from poor mental health.

On 7 June, the agency’s workforce will embark on an arduous 24-mile route, taking them up Yorkshire’s Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Inglebrorough peaks. The £1000 raised for CALM will help keep the charity’s call centre running for one night.

In the UK, 84 men take their own lives each week. This sobering statistic spurred Boutique into taking on the challenge.

Managing director Simon Bollon explained, “With 84 men taking their own lives each week we’d really like to do something about it. That figure is pretty staggering and desperately sad. If we can raise enough money for CALM to pay for the call centre to be open for one night, we might just do our bit to get that number down by one. Putting business on hold for a day to save a life is a sacrifice worth making.”
