Business on the move: BP, Microsoft, BMW, and more

BP has appointed WPP as its global marketing partner following a review.

Agency wins

BP has chosen WPP as its “preferred global partner” for marketing communication services following a review that began last year. WPP, which has created a specialised team just for the account, will be tasked with handling BP’s Corporate, Fuels and Castrol businesses globally.

Microsoft has retained Dentsu has its global media agency-of-record, following a closed review. Dentsu held the contract after fighting off pitches from Wavemaker and Publicis.

BMW has expanded the role of agency partner Accenture, as it gears up its digital comms activities. Taking on responsibility for the car brand's global experience account, Accenture will now deliver tailored content across 120 markets on behalf of BMW and Mini.

US burger chain Krystal has named The Tombras Group as its agency-of-record. The account is moving from BrightRedTBWA.

Age UK has appointed Brave as its lead creative agency in a process run through Creativebrief. Brave has been tasked with building on the impact of past campaigns, while bringing a fresh approach to the charity.

Bonprix, has appointed 180 Kingsday. The fashion brand has awarded European brand duties to 180 Kingsday, which announced the win with the launch of a new campaign.

JD Williams has appointed TBWA\Manchester as its lead creative agency, following a pitch. The agency's first campaign for the clothing brand will launch this autumn.

Long Tall Sally, the fashion retailer for tall women, has appointed BBD Perfect Storm. The agency won the client following a competitive pitch, and has been tasked on creating a new brand positioning for the brand.

Avocados from Mexico, the nonprofit trade group that represents Mexican avocado importers, has selected Energy BBDO as its new agency partner. The account was awarded following a competitive pitch that saw Energy BBDO square off against 72&Sunny, Doner and Merkley and Partners.

Integrated marketing agency Lewis has announced a raft of new business, after being appointed by Stewart Investors, Irish Life Investment Managers, Criterion and The Mortgage Lender. In addition, the agency has announced a three-year extension to its contracts with Santander for Intermediaries and Cater Allen Private Bank.

Fashion and accessories brand Lamoda has chosen digital marketing agency Return to take control of its paid media campaigns. The brand joins a client roster than includes Skinnydip, Oh Polly and Joanie.

Regatta Great Outdoors has announced Label PR as its retained PR agency. Label has been tasked with the launch and management of the brand's next celebrity ambassador campaign.

Rooster PR has been picked by Tempur UK to handle its UK launch. The mattress brand aims to increase its market share in the UK.

Andersen Press has appointed The Big Shot, to deliver an integrated creative campaign in support of children's book series The Bolds, by author Julian Clary. The campaign is due to go live in September.

Reviews

GlaxoSmithKline has placed its entire media account under review, three years after selecting Omnicom's PHD and WPP's Mediacom. The review puts a $1.7bn budget up for grabs.
