Tui’s marketing chief Jeremy Ellis has announced his departure from the company after 27 years in the fold.
Tui marketer Ellis departs
Ellis will vacate the marketing and customer experience director role in May, having held it since May 2011. He was responsible for brand, CRM, insights, content, social and digital marketing and helped digitise the brand.
He is attributed with developing campaign’s like ‘Kid’ in 2011 and the likes of Simon the Ogre and Miles the Bear. He also oversaw First Direct’s refresh and Thomson’s move to Tui with the Hello Tui campaign.
Ellis first joined Thomson Holidays in 1991 as a graduate and has worked his way up the chain from a position selling package holidays.
On his departure, he said: “I feel very lucky to have had such a long and varied career in Tui. It’s a fantastic business with fantastic people in a fantastic industry and I’ve learnt so much from my 27-year tenure.
“Leaving Tui will be hard as the business goes from strength to strength, but I know this is the right decision for me.”
Katie McAlister will take over the lead as chief marketing officer of Tui UK & Ireland from 1 June. She currently serves as digital director of the group.
