Pinterest's VP of ads Jon Alferness exits after less than a year in the role
Pinterest has confirmed that its recently appointed senior vice-president of ad products Jon Alferness is no longer with the business.
Pinterest loses head of ad products in just five months
Alferness joined Pinterest in July 2017, he was promoted to succeed departing president Tim Kendall in December. In February of this year, he returned to overseeing ad products exclusively after Pinterest hired former Square exec Francois Brougher as chief operating officer.
His departure will see Pinterest's consumer and ad product teams merge within a single integrated product team led by senior vice-president of product Lawrence Ripsher.
In a statement Pinterest wrote: "We’ve built an integrated product team that resulted in a change of leadership. This builds on our momentum and will deliver better products for Pinners and partners. We would like to thank Jon for all of the work he did for the company and we wish him well."
