Future Publishing has confirmed its purchase of US content business Newbay Media for $13.8m, broadening the publishers reach across conferences, magazines, events, digital content and data services.
Straddling London and New York Newbay also possesses a large B2B portfolio, publishing specialist titles such as Music Week, MCV and PCR and also has a significant consumer reach with titles such as Bass Player and Guitar World.
Zillah Byng-Thorne, chief executive of Future, said: “NewBay is clearly aligned with Future in its mission to create content that connects, with market leading titles. This acquisition supports our strategy of growth organically and through acquisition, global expansion and revenue diversification.”

Future now owns over 100 brands spanning print, events and digital having added a suite of Haymarket magazines to its expanding stable as recently as last month.
