UK Top Shazamed Ads: Apple Homepod slides into eighth place
The Drum's Shazam chart is based on the number of times each ad has been Shazamed over the past week using the music identification app.
Ovo Energy has worked its way in at number seven this week with a short clip featuring the voices of climate change deniers mixed with thrash metal band Slayer's 'Raining Blood'. The film begins with a variety of household appliances plugged into the earth, sweeping out to TV screens showcasing climate change deniers, all the while a recording of the Network speech 'Get Mad' plays while 'Raining Blood' get's louder.
Taking eigth place is Apple, who turned to film and music video director Spike Jonze for something different for the HomePod clip. The whopping four-minute piece starts with a young female worker getting home after what appears to be a miserable day.
Asking Siri to play something she'd like, the woman sits down to listen to Anderson .Paak's 'Til It's Over' before discovering she can stretch and push the room, filling it with colour, all the while dancing.
