Sony's latest addition to its PlayStation’s 'God of War' advertising campaign showcases the survivalist relationship of the game's two main characters in vivid color and impressively real graphics.

Made in partnership with BBH New York, the new 60-second animated film, 'Arrow,' gives PS4 gamers a taste of the obstacles, challenges and greatness that awaits them. The film promotes the anticipated game, releasing on PlayStation on April 20.

From the marble and columns of ornate Olympus to the gritty forests, mountains, and caves of pre-Viking Norse lore, the game’s father-son duo, Kratos and Atreus, find themselves in a distinctly new realm with its own pantheon of creatures, monsters, and gods. In this harsh, unforgiving world, Kratos must fight to survive and teach his son, Atreus, to do the same.

Using the boy’s arrow as its narrative thread, the film opens with a father’s lesson to his son how to hunt. The boy misses a magical buck by a hair, and the viewer sees the fur of the animal fly as the arrow's point grazes its neck. The action quickly escalates as the arrow takes the viewer into the ruthless environments of the game to witness key character building moments throughout the pair’s long journey together, including the boy's skill with the bow. The progression and growth of the duo’s combat skills, as well as their relationship, builds throughout the promo. Father and son soon learn that if they are to survive this perilous world, they must learn to fight together as a team.

The campaign for the game will include a variety of media deliverables across broadcast and online.
