With less than 10 weeks to GDPR, is the industry in for a world that is full of change, full of disruption, and full of the unexpected? The Drum will explore this and more at a panel discussion with Quantcast and IDM on March 19 at the The Drum and The Sun Arms 2018.

The panel will include Somer Simpson, lead product manager at Quantcast and the IAB's head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Yves Schwarzbart.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation becomes a reality on May 25 this year. Our lively panel of experts will look at how our industry is navigating this minefield. And whether GDPR could give that much needed impetus to the ad tech sector to really reinvent itself. Also, whether the magnitude of change this legislation will bring could see a spate of dramatic penalties post-May 2018, making it look all very bleak for those who breach.

It’s not all doom and gloom. Our panel will look at how the industry is marching forward with compliance front of mind. And of course, pies, chips and mash will be served while the panel discusses how the European Union is giving greater protection and more rights to citizens regarding their data, reflecting the realities of the digital world we all live in.

“The GDPR will means changes for your business, but many of those changes will help you in your marketing. Come and hear all about it over pie with me," said John Mitchison, director of legal at the DMA.
