Having left the Scottish commercial broadcaster last year following a notable decade in charge, Woodward will now return to London to replace Michael Higgins.
“Ebiquity is leading the charge in independent marketing analytics," said Woodward. "Following the sale of its Advertising Intelligence business, Ebiquity is now at an exciting pivotal moment in its evolution and I look forward to supporting the development of the company into a higher growth consultancy that capitalises on strong market opportunities."
He will take up the role from 1 March prior to Higgins officially standing down at the company’s annual general meeting on 9 May. The latter served as chairman for a period of 12 years.
Woodward was succeeded at STV by Simon Pitts.
Higgins commented: “I have greatly enjoyed being part of Ebiquity’s evolution over the past 12 years. I believe that, with Rob’s arrival, we have the right balance of skills and experience on the Board to lead Ebiquity into an exciting period of growth."
Earlier this month it was revealed that Nielsen had acquired Ebiquity’s AdIntel unit for £26m.
