Comparison platform GoCompare has confirmed the appointment of Silicon Valley-based angel investor Joe Hurd as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
Hurd arrives from his most recent role as director of emerging business at Facebook where he held responsibilities for strategy, operations and market planning in support of the social media sites advertising monetization efforrts.
Prior to that Hurd advised the US secretary of commerce on trade policy as part of an impressive CV that also includes stints at Gannett Broadcasting, VideoEgg, Friendster and AOL.
GoCompare chairman Sir Peter Wood, said: "Joe has a wealth of experience working with exciting tech companies throughout the world, and he will play a valuable and important role on the Board as the Group looks to develop its mission of 'helping people everywhere save time and money'."
Hurd also serves on the advisory board of blockchain adtech provider purse.us; programmatic TV advertising specialists Psychability and interactive TV content provider excite.
Two months ago GoCompare purchased MyVoucherCodes in a deal valued at £36.5m.
