Omnicom Media Group’s PHD has announced that it has promoted two of its longest-serving senior UK leaders to C-Suite positions.

Matt Sanders, currently managing partner, has been promoted to chief operating officer, assuming responsibility for the agency’s organisational effectiveness, including tools, systems, processes, team structure, and talent retention. Sanders has worked for PHD UK for 18 years, having joined from Mediavest in 1999.

Managing partner Euan Hudghton has become PHD UK’s chief brand and experience officer, where he will continue to have overall responsibility for the agency’s marketing and new business functions, while adding a new remit which will see him working more closely with media partners to enhance PHD’s media owner relationship programme. Hudghton joined PHD from ITV in 2008, where he was marketing controller for ITV1.

Chief executive, Verica Djurdjevic, said: “2017 was a hugely successful year for PHD and Matt and Euan made significant contributions to that success. Their promotions are an indication of our intent on making sure PHD has the right talent in the right positions to maintain that success in an ever-changing marketplace.

"I am also delighted that, in line with our heritage of developing our own future leaders, I have been able to fill both of these positions from within the agency’s existing talent base."

These promotions are the latest senior leadership positions announced by chief Djurdjevic, following the appointment of Marco De Cesaris from Proximity China as PHD UK’s chief data officer in August.
