The Team GB partner shows how the spirit of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang is in the heart of every Brit as they try to go about their daily business.

The first slot from McCann shows a granny pull of a ski jump in a mobility scooter.

The next shows a man struggling home with his shopping bags on the icy pavement, his struggles transcend into an impressive display of ice skating.

Adam Zavalis, marketing director at Aldi UK, said: “With our Winter Olympics campaign, we wanted to capture the adventurous spirit of the Games whilst still retaining our well known irreverent humour.

"Who better than British winter Olympic legends Torvill and Dean, and everyone’s favourite ski jumper Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards to tell our message of benefitting from Olympic sized savings whilst enjoying medal winning products exclusively at Aldi.”

The ads debuted on ITV, 1 February.

The Drum spoke to Team GB to learn how it is getting the country behind the Olympians - a task made more difficult by the lower profile of Winter athletes in the UK.
