Oscar nominations – oh no they didn’t

In its 90th year, it’s time for the Oscars again as preparations begin for the ceremony to be held on 4 March 2018. Film fans eagerly waited in anticipation to see whether their predictions for the Oscar nominations came true. Who was snubbed? Who rightfully got their dues? The Shape of Water leads with 13 nominations while Meryl Streep has received her 21st nomination for her role in The Post.

As it happens every year, some diehard fans are getting very tickled about it. As one YouTube commentator shouts: “I’m truly outraged that The Boss Baby was nominated but not the LEGO Batman Movie!”.

Candide Thovex shows us his moves

As travel companies frantically look at technologies such as virtual reality (VR) to get consumers excited about travelling the world, German automaker Audi has taken a more simplistic approach. Why not just let French skier Candide Thovex ski across beautiful mountains, waterfalls and even the Great Wall of China for you? (cue uber cool flips in the air without even a moment’s pause).

Now you try it.

Hamilton – “Wrote My Way Out”

If you have been living under a rock you may not know about Hamilton, one of the biggest hip-hop musicals to hit the theatre in recent times. Telling the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and the American Revolution, it’s been the recipient of major awards including the Pulitzer Prize for drama and 11 Tony Awards.

Lin-Manuel Miranda responsible for creating the musical has dropped a music video “Wrote My Way Out” as part of his “Hamildrops” series. The video features Nas, Dave East and Aloe Blacc and is set in New York where Miranda grew up.

Ed Sheeran warms our hearts with engagement

Just as we’re coming back down off cloud nine after Prince Harry’s & Meghan Markle’s engagement, another one of our nation’s sweethearts goes and pops the question – to his childhood sweetheart. Huge congrats to Ed Sheeran and to his lovely lady friend, Cherry Seaborn. Ed revealed that their ‘cats are chuffed as well’.

Enrique Iglesias is back!

Remember Spanish heartthrob Enrique Iglesias? After a long hiatus, the hit singer just drooped his latest single “EL BAÑO” (meaning The Bathroom) ft. Bad Bunny. Steamy as ever with some provocative lyrics, it’s clear Iglesias has not lost his edge. In fact, the 42-year old still looks exactly the same.
