eCars247 launches the UK’s first online showroom for second-hand car buying

The new system removes the need to post any paperwork when purchasing a second-hand car.

eCars247 has launched a "game-changing” e-commerce website in an attempt to digitally disrupt the UK automobile market.

MMT Digital, part of The Be Heard Group, built the state-of-the-art platform to help eCars247 become the first online-only second-hand car dealer in the UK and the first in the world to offer e-signature functionality.

Adopting the approach of successful US disruptor, Carvana, eCars247 offers customers the opportunity to buy second hand cars as well as take part exchange, make a finance application, receive approval and book delivery all in one place. eCars247 has also built e-signature functionality into the checkout, becoming the first car dealership in the world to do so. The online finance application and approval service by Hitachi PayByFinance means that customers can sign online, removing the need to post any paperwork and allowing goods to be dispatched immediately.

Christopher Killen, co-founder of eCars247, commented: “This project has been a huge part of the company’s digital transformation as we were attempting something that had not been done before in the UK. MMT Digital understood the lean start up model that we needed to adopt and the agency’s agile methodology worked perfectly for the project. eCars247 can now expand beyond the catchment area of its physical base, without the overhead of new showrooms and storage facilities and we are excited to see how the business grows with a game-changing new model, reaching a new audience.”

Ian Stanton, client services director at MMT Digital, said: “We’re all about creating digital solutions that transform business performance. There is currently no other car dealership providing this service and we are excited to have been at forefront of it. Being the first to market with this business model will position eCars247 as a digital disruptor, using technology to adapt a traditional model to align with today’s digitally empowered customer.”

MMT Digital operates offices in London and Rutland.
