Roll of honour: what it takes to win a MOMA award

The Drum Marketing on Mobile (MOMA) Awards celebrate the brands and agencies delivering the best campaigns and strategies that are leading the way in mobile.

But what makes a winner? Following is five examples of the best work awarded in 2017.

uSwitch – Energy Switching App

Most Innovative Use of Mobile

With the launch of QR codes on energy bills, uSwitch saw an opportunity to create a ‘personal energy comparison assistant’ mobile app. For some consumers, the process of finding their billing information and entering it into a website could be a barrier to switching. uSwitch challenged this and came out with an app that allows users to scan their bill’s QR code for an instant, bespoke energy comparison.

Epson Colour Light Output Projectors

Most Effective Mobile Advertising Campaign/Strategy

TotalMedia and Ogury collaborated on a mobile campaign for Epson Colour Light Output Projectors, aimed at an active in-market IT decision maker and consumer target audience. With efficient behavioural targeting, Ogury achieved CTRs of 19.37% for business users, and 20.16% for consumers.

Epson

Costa Express

Best use of Location Based Services

Costa Express and GPS app, Waze teamed up to reroute drivers in real time for a great tasting coffee. The two main objectives of this campaign were to drive footfall into Costa Express sites and increase offer and location awareness.

Cheapflights: Chat messenger bot

Best use of Social Media on Mobile

Cheapflights Chat is a Facebook bot which uses the latest Facebook technology to help users find flights and hotels in their Messenger app. The bot was built in a few weeks of Facebook announcing their Messenger developer tools with the aim of creating a useful travel tool that combined several benefits users would normally only get from downloading multiple apps.
