Twitter has launched its new #BlueRoomSG live question and answer series, which aims to bring more conversation fodder for sports fans in the Asia Pacific region.

The #BlueRoomSG live Q&A series will feature new guests from the sporting world every month after Siyodtong’s session.

This is in line with the social media platform to become the live sports content provider of choice in APAC before ecommerce giant Amazon sinks its teeth fully into the region.

The inaugural #BlueRoom session for the 2018 series in Singapore will kick off with founder and chief executive of mixed martial arts organisation One Championship (@ONEChampionship) Chatri Sidyodtong (@YODCHATRI), who also owns Singapore-based MMA gym, Evolve MMA.

Siyodtong is a longtime Twitter user, having joined the platform in June 2009, when he started Evolve MMA and One Championship two years later. In this session, he will share the backstory to founding One Championship and how he envisions One Championship as a sports powerhouse as compared to the UFC and Bellator MMA, with an eye towards the Asian values of hard work and respect.

“Twitter is the best and the fastest place to find out what’s happening in your world and this is true for sports fans in Asia and globally,” said Maurizio Barbieri, head of sports partnerships Southeast Asia, at Twitter.

“As one of the world’s largest live communications platform, we’re keen to bring sports fans on Twitter closer to their champions in every field, and the #BlueRoomSG Live Q&A series is one way to create more shared experiences for the community through real-time conversations.”
