Newgate, a British manufacturer of watches and clocks, has appointed digital marketing agency Run2 to develop branding and creative campaign concepts for Newgate Clocks and Newgate Watches accounts with a timeless brand positioning.

The timepiece manufacturer required an identity that made it stand out in the marketplace, specifically building its presence on social channels. Run2 worked with Newgate to dissect the history of the company and the elements that make up the brand; its research portrayed ‘British elegance with an edge’ and ‘British with a quirk’. The team built up visual ideas and concepts around these themes which is now being rolled out across the relevant social channels.

Jim Read, managing director of Newgate, said of the partnership: “It’s been refreshing to come across a world class company in the heart of the country. We’ve never come across a more switched on, dynamic, creative and fun team. If only all our partners were like Run2!”

Christian McGinty, managing director of Run2, commented: “Newgate is a well-known British brand, and we admire the way it has combined retro and contemporary influences to create watches that embody British elegance with a little bit of attitude.

“Conversions are at the forefront of everything we do for any client, and with the Newgate account it’s a great opportunity for us to deliver a full end-to-end solution. We always enjoy working with e-commerce clients; as an agency we are results driven, and with e-commerce we can measure results and conversions accurately.”

Having exposed the personality behind Newgate, Run2 will also be managing the PPC, SEO, UX and social media through both paid and organic channels.
