Cheil Worldwide has announced that it has promoted Jeongkeun Yoo to president and chief executive

The Samsung-owned agency claimed Lim revealed his decision to resign through prior consultation with the board members and recommended his successor be Yoo, who was formerly executive vice president at Cheil.

Yoo joined Cheil in 1987 as an account executive and spent the next three decades working across various positions that ranged from planning and sales to creative, working with clients like Anycall, Cheil Industries, Samsung Life Insurance, S-Oil, Daekyo and Pigeon.

Before he was appointed CEO in 2012, Lim was vice president for Samsung’s corporate strategy office, a position he rose to after joining in 1981 and worked with Cheil for more than a decade.
