Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer is set to leave Scottish pubgoers red-faced as part of a unique marketing stunt and tour from Tennent’s Lager marking the festive season.

Disembodied, wall-mounted reindeer head ‘Rude-olph’ will be discretely voiced by a local patter merchant in real time, dispensing gruff shopping and life advice in Scottish pubs and partners to the brewery.

Alan McGarrie, head of UK brand marketing at Tennent’s, said: “We’re all excited to be introducing Scotland to our newest furry Christmas temp. From buying the right perfume for your mum to finding a date for Christmas dinner, we all sometimes need a X-mas expert to point us in the right direction.

“That’s why we’ve appointed our man Rude-olph, so people can spend less time Christmas shopping this year and more time enjoying Scotland’s favourite lager.”

For those not able to make it out to the venues, fans of the potty-mouthed reindeer can interact with him online here.

The tour kicks off at The Raven in Glasgow this Friday, before visiting The Black Bull in Edinburgh, Taybridge Bar in Dundee and the Bridge St Social in Aberdeen in the following days.
