The NY-based indie brought Staples in to lead all creative coming from the Los Angeles office. Staples was an executive creative director at Wieden+Kennedy’s Portland office, where he oversaw the advertising, technology, and design for brands such as Nike, Coca Cola, Old Spice, Chrysler, and Weight Watchers.
Said Corinna Falusi, Mother New York’s chief creative officer and partner, “We are so excited to welcome Joe to our Mother family out west. Our first year in LA has already been amazing — and with Joe, we believe that his enormous creative and personal energy will continue to inspire our broader creative community.”
Staples said he loved Mother’s indepndence: “I have truly enjoyed the time I've spent with all the key people as they’re driven by optimism and possibility. I’ve never heard anyone complain about a client, or bemoan a process. The incredible team in LA has already accomplished so much, and I’m excited to join this growing outpost and continue to define how Mother in LA will play into the larger Mother narrative.”
Staples joined a growing Mother Los Angeles team in an agency that is barely a year old. Mother also recently opened an office in Shanghai, a partnership with The Secret Little Agency.
