The video features Buster the Boxer, the star of John Lewis’s 2016 Christmas ad who is seen to be upset and disappointed after watching John Lewis 2017 Christmas ad. Buster is further trying to persuade John Lewis, and other retailers, to spread love this Christmas by pulling their ads from these newspapers.

Richard Wilson, co-founder and director of Stop Funding Hate said: “When Buster got in touch we were amazed. We know that it can’t have been an easy decision. But like many John Lewis customers and staff, Buster was so disappointed that they were advertising in the Mail and Express."

"He’d seen that even the United Nations had warned about their divisive content, and felt this just didn’t fit with the Partnership’s values. But when we told him we could help spread his message, he got some of his Boxer spirit back. We’re asking everyone who loves Buster to share his video”.

Earlier, Stop Funding Hate called for ad boycott of The Sun, Daily Mail and Express over migrant coverage.
