Conceptualised by 72andSunny, the campaign kicks off in the UK with 40- and 30- second TV spots across ITV, Channel 4 and Sky featuring chef, Eric Lanlard, model Bishamber Das, interiors stylist, Sarah Akwisombe and artist Matt Crump.
The advert shows Santa Claus surfing and Lanlard making designer Christmas cakes. Social video vignettes have been produced by Rubber Republic and will also run across YouTube, Facebook and Snapchat.
The campaign will run across radio, cinema, digital and out of home in the UK. It will also feature on the recently switched on Piccadilly lights ultra-HD digital billboard screens as well as from T-sides on 200 London buses and static bus stops, secured by eBay’s media buying agency, MediaCom.
Gareth Jones, eBay’s senior director of marketing, said: “'Beige’ behaviours are a global epidemic when it comes to Christmas – whether it’s generic decorations, Christmas day rituals or the gifts we give.
"Through this campaign we’re inviting people to shop more personally on eBay to find the right items at the right price, that will enable them to make their Christmas different to the rest".
