Merkle has been named as a search marketing 'Leader' by Forrester Research.

Performance marketing agency Merkle has been ranked a ‘Leader’ in The Forrester Wave™: Search Marketing Agencies, Q4 2017.

Produced by independent research company Forrester Research Inc, the report assessed the state of the search marketing landscape by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the top twelve search marketing agency vendors across 25 criteria. The evaluation focuses on current offerings, strategy, and market presence.

Merkle received the highest possible scores in the market research, media, collaboration, and revenue criteria. In the paid search criterion and strategy category, Merkle scored among the highest of all the providers evaluated. According to the report, Merkle “earns great feedback for its paid search offering due to its method of categorizing known, semi-known, and unknown audiences to personalize and target searchers”. Merkle’s execution road map received high praise for its "focus on deepening its vertical expertise in industries struggling with digital disruption" and its "plans for a digital business school to advance its employees’ careers”.

Collin Colburn, senior analyst at Forrester, wrote in the report: “We recommend Merkle to marketers that require deep vertical expertise - Merkle focuses on seven industries including travel, retail, and nonprofits - and is looking to use search to guide the rest of its digital media planning and investments.”

Coleen Kuehn, chief media officer at Merkle, said: “We are honored to be named a Leader in search marketing by Forrester. As a leading global people-based marketing agency, we leverage an individual’s identity, location, and search intent to maximize search value for our clients.”
