Back in May, Pattison, chief executive of GroupM’s Maxus agency, was also appointed to the newly formed role of chief transformation officer. Months later and that role has been expanded so that she is overseeing the future-proofing of the entire group.

On the move, chief executive of WPP, Martin Sorrell circulated a statement: “As you know, our single most important task is to ensure we provide our clients with a seamlessly integrated offer, as they demand greater simplicity and efficiency from their marketing services partners.

"Horizontality will increasingly be reflected in the structure of the Group itself, as well as our client teams, country managers and organic collaboration between our companies.

"Lindsay will play a key role in that project as we continue down the path of greater integration."
