Walmart is redoubling its efforts to attract all important Christmas dollars with the launch of its ‘Rock This Christmas’ TV campaign which depicts children excitedly unwrapping toys on Christmas morning as their parents celebrate the great deals – all to the tune of 'Whoomp There It Is' by Tag Team.

The promotional push will be accompanied by an expanded product range in-store and online; expediting shipping on millions of items to just two days free of charge and an improved store experience with the recruitment of dedicated holiday helpers.

The supermarket giant claims to have tripled the number of products it has available this year from last including improved stock of popular items; including this year’s must have toys – Hatchimals, FurReal Friends Roarin’ Tyler Tiger and licensed merchandise from the Star Wars and Frozen universes.

To further enthuse trolley pushers a trio of themed parties will be held through November and December in which accompanying children will be invited to play with all the latest toys and take Santa selfies.

Steve Bratspies, chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S, explained: “Serving customers is our everyday passion at Walmart, and during the holiday season we work even harder to deliver what our customers want most…to save time and money. We’re leveraging our more than 4,700 stores and Walmart.com to deliver more assortment, exclusives, convenience and savings than ever before.”

In addition to human helpers Walmart has rolled out shelf-scanning robots at some of its stores.
