Magners is putting its own twist on the classic toffee apple with a Halloween tutorial showing revelers how to make their own dark fruit concoctions.

The campaign shows apples dunked in litres of the new berry flavoured cider before being dunked in deep purple toffee. The activity is running to create a fuss around the recent launch of its Dark Fruit range in supermarkets.

The work was shaped with the hope of driving awareness and sales of the brand at retail partners as a themed-Halloween tipple.

Janette Murray, Magners UK marketing manager said: “We wanted to give consumers the chance to try new Magners Dark Fruit in a really fun way ahead of its nationwide launch in supermarkets this November.

“Our Magners Dark Fruit dunked apples really are the ultimate Halloween adult treat and some lucky Magners Facebook fans will have the chance to not only bag one of our batch in time for spooky season, they’ll also receive cans of Magners Dark Fruit, meaning they will be among the first in the UK to welcome the new fruity member of the Magners family.”

Comms agency Wire, which also handles the Tennent’s Lager account has went all in for Halloween, running a scary Night Bus through Glasgow to drive traffic to partner pubs and generate a bit of buzz.
