John Lewis 2017 Christmas advert to feature a 'cuddly monster'

The much anticipated television advertising campaign released in the run up to Christmas by British department store chain John Lewis will feature a huge cute 'cuddly monster' like the Gruffalo.

According to a report by OK!: "Families are going to love the finished product, it's a really emotional advert with a lovely ending."

"While it’s not been revealed what the monster will look like, we’re expecting the creature to be a hit with viewers like past characters."

Filming for the advert has been completed and is in post production for special effects.

Reportedly, the advert is being directed by Oscar winner Michel Gondry of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Daft Punk's 'Around the World' music video fame.

Last year, John Lewis' £7m campaign for Christmas featured a boxer dog called Buster.

John Lewis recently became the first UK retailer to trial Facebook 360 Collections ads.
