Directed by Dorian & Daniel, the young duo behind Johnnie Walker's 'Dear Brother', the ad sees a modern day Red Riding Hood chased by a pack of wolves through a forest. When she appears cornered, she smiles, covers her eyes and starts counting '1,2,3...', revealing that the chase was just a game all along.
The spot is accompanied by The Delfonic's track 'Ready or Not'.
Maximilian Adams, senior brand manager at Green & Black’s, explained the reimagined fairytale aims to "showcase that our new G&B Velvet edition is a smooth, more accessible dark chocolate" with through the concept 'Dark but different'.
Paul Jordan, executive creative director of Mcgarrybowen London, added: "G&B’s Velvet Edition is less intense than regular dark chocolate, and we wanted to bring this out in the work. The re-telling of Red Riding Hood in a cool and contemporary way seems the perfect platform to communicate that not everything is as dark as it seems."
The campaign was released today (18 October) and will be supplemented with an influencer engagment programme and a fairytale themed PR event.
