Social media shines bright as DADI Awards 2017 nominations are announced

One of the many industry experts judging the entries, Asshiq Mohd, global communications manager at Mars, explained why the category really stood out this year.

He said: "There were plenty of entries and the nominations were highly effective campaigns. What we were looking for in terms of social was something engaging, funny and the keyword, in our group, that came up, was that they were brave. They were brave enough to say what they want, do something different and break the mold."

The Dadi awards has recognised the leading agencies, brands and talent operating in the digital space for more than 10 years.

Chairman of the judging panel, and Dadi veteran, Phil Jones, founder Podge Events, said: “One of the trends I spotted walking around the various groups of judges was the inclination to give higher priority to work that made a social impact rather than selling a product or a company. Some clever projects that make a real difference to how people live their lives."

If you entered the best use of social media category, the following companies are in the running for the top prize; 1000heads Ltd, Cisco Systems, Direct Line Group, Impero, LADbible Group, Manning Gottlieb OMD, MediaCom UK, RAPP, Recipe Advertising Ltd and Socialyse UK.
