Royal Mail puts its stamp on Star Wars with Malcolm Tween designs
Packages can now get sent to a place far, far away with the help of a newly unveiled line of Star Wars stamps from Royal Mail.
Star Wars stamps from Malcolm Tween
The designs have been created by British artist Malcolm Tween, who worked on a previous line in 2015, all to coincide with the launch of the second movie in the latest franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi in December.
Furthermore, the stamps are intended to celebrate the British talent that helps develop the franchise, which is largely shot at the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios, although forays into Ireland and Mexico have also been made.
Maz Kanata, Porgs, Wookies, Snoke, BB-8, R2-D2, C-3PO and K-2SO feature on the special edition line that will be available from 12 October.
The four ‘droid’ stamps in particular include a nuance that will see them only become visible under a UV light. In addition, the stamps borrow the iconic Star Wars typeface for the ‘1ST’ text.
