The organisers of Canvas, the largest annual digital product and design conference that takes place in Birmingham every year, has signed up an international cast of speakers for 2017’s event taking place in October.

The conference is organised by Midlands-based digital experience studio 383 and this year is being supported by Labs by London Midland and mParticle alongside The Drum and organisers at 383 expect to attract more than 700 digital professionals across many disciplines to Birmingham Town Hall for the event.

The theme of Canvas this year is ‘Insider Stories from Product People’ and 383 has signed up a broad range of innovative companies to offer their thoughts, insights and experiences to attendees.

Speakers so far include Sarah Milton, head of product at All 4; Kai Loh, senior product manager at Pittsburgh-based company Duolingo; Jane Kelly, director of data products at Buzzfeed; Bo Ren, product manager at Tumblr; Haiyan Zhang, innovation director at Microsoft; Jeffrey Veen, product partner at True Ventures, Hamish Grierson, chief executive of Thriva; Hugo Cornejo, head of design at Monzo and Emma Coats, personality lead at Google Assistant.

Speaking of this year’s event Dan Archer, marketing director at 383, said: "At Canvas we hear the insider stories from some of the world's most interesting and disruptive businesses and the stories told are always really interesting. There's no brand evangelists or high-level overviews, all the talks and speakers are specifically curated to provide actionable insights for anyone involved in designing, building or marketing digital experiences and products."

“This year we are thrilled to partner with Labs by London Midland – an initiative from the train operator that's focused on reimagining the rail passenger experience using innovative technology. They've already run a start-up accelerator programme, which is a first for the rail industry, and continue to work to improve how they interact with their customers and create better digital products – a goal that fully matches ours at Canvas".

Richard Draycott, managing director at The Drum Network, said: “As an organisation that exists to help and support ambitious entrepreneurs to become as successful as possible, we are delighted to be involved with Canvas, the biggest industry conference hosted in the UK’s second city. We are not only looking forward to hearing from the great range of speakers who will be on the stage, but also meeting and chatting to the hundreds of ambitious businesses and marketing professionals who will be attending in October. This is a great opportunity to meet The Drum’s readers from across the Midlands and find out more about what they are doing in their businesses.”

Canvas takes place on Thursday 26 October at Birmingham Town Hall. Tickets can be purchased from the Canvas website.
