Nissan enlists Pigcasso the painting pig for Skyline campaign
South Africa’s famous painting pig, Pigcasso, steals the show in an entertaining campaign from Nissan to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its Skyline model.
Nissan's new campaign to promote its iconic Skyline model features a painting pig
Pigcasso, who has found fame thanks to the complex line artworks she creates, features in the spot alongside world-renowned race driver Michael Krumm.
Nissan used one of Pigcasso’s creations to design a race track and then challenged Krumm to navigate the course.
The spot aims to promote the Nissan Skyline’s continually evolving driving technology, specifically the Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) that Nissan claims is the world’s first motion transmission from steering wheel to the car wheels through electrical signals.
The campaign was created by TBWA\HAKUHODO Japan.
Takayuki Niizawa, senior creative director at TBWA\HAKUHODO Japan, said: “To celebrate the 60th anniversary, we wanted a highly entertaining and engaging way for people to rediscover the charm of the Skyline. What better way to demonstrate the innovative DAS technology of the Skyline than with the help of a pig with an innovative talent.”
