Playertek signs The Playbook to navigate GPS campaign

Playertek, the world’s most powerful GPS tracker for the individual footballer, has hired The Playbook for an influencer and media campaign.

The Playbook will create a campaign designed to engage and educate social influencers, with ‘Playertek FC’ team members being gifted product as the new season launches. Providing influencers with the same rich data analytics and insight as our elite professional heroes, traditional media will also be engaged to help raise the profile of Playertek among serious amateur players, teams and coaches.

Playertek is a wearable GPS performance tracker that allows players and coaches to track movement and measure physical performance during training and games, including distance covered, positional heat maps, top speed, sprint distance and number of sprints.

Collecting 2500 data points per second, Playertek tracks your every single movement on the pitch and provides you with a detailed picture of your game - how far you run, how fast you run, where you go on the pitch, how many sprints you make and how long they are. You can check your performance against the pros, your team-mates or anyone else using Playertek.

Paula Keve, head of communications at Catapult Sports, commented: “I was impressed with The Playbook team’s experience, knowledge and contacts within the world of sports. Their enthusiasm for working with us was clear from the outset, and I’m excited to spread the word about Playertek amongst our heartland audience in new, innovative ways.”

Eddie May, managing director at The Playbook, said: “Playertek is a unique product that gives amateur players access to a lot of the performance insights that have previously only been available to the pros. Sports tech and data is an exciting market and we are over the moon to add Playertek and Catapult to our client portfolio and help create new standards in the game.”

Playertek is brought to the market by Catapult, who have provided team performance analytics to the likes of Chelsea, Brazil, Bayern Munich, Leicester, Newcastle, Rangers, Real Madrid, A.C. Milan and PSG over the past 10 years.
