Speedo makes a splash with online audience participation tool
Speedo On is geared toward professional and amateur swimmers alike to add some vim to the drudgery of a weekly fitness regime by serving up a regular diet of tips, motivation and suggestions for both water and dry land.
Intended to address a drop in the number of people choosing to swim the digital tool brings a global community of swimmers together online where they can earn badges based on performance against key metrics such as ace, metres, lengths swum, calories burnt and the SWOLF – swimming jargon for a combination of strokes per length and length time.
Rob Hicking, brand director at Speedo International, commented: “Speedo On has been born out of our passion to inspire more people to get into the pool to achieve their fitness goals. By creating this globally accessible platform, we hope to provide users with the knowledge and know-how to become better swimmers and create a global swim community to motivate and support one another.”
Over a year in the making Speedo On incorporates both free and subscription membership tiers, the latter of which opens up access to swim training plans, graphical analysis of logged swims and custom content.
