Chase founded the group which bears her name in 1986, slowly growing the business into a global brand design success story courtesy of a passion for design, securing a range of clients in the process such as Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo and Nestlé.

In a statement Chase president Chris Lowery said: "Everyone in the Chase Design Group family has been touched and inspired by Margo's creativity, generous spirit and love for design. We will all miss her brilliance and incredible energy, but will carry her vision for the organization forward as she would have wanted," he says. "All of us here at Chase send our heartfelt condolences to her husband Patrick Dugan and the rest of her family."

Chase is an accomplished pilot, regularly taking to the skies above California and as passionate about flying as her love for design. The cause of the crash at this stage has not been established.
