Ford says the new-look edition borrows some design elements from the car's heritage, while the campaign's tagline: 'Together We Go Further' seeks to underline the the car's significance in British history.
Devised by creative agency GTB UK, the TV ad shows Hawes driving around to the sound of Loaded by Primal Scream as she passes several classic old Fiesta models - showcasing how society, people and technology have evolved since the first ever Fiesta hit the road in 1965.
Shot by award winning directors, Dom and Nic from production house Outsider the ad also stars two-time British Olympic gold medalist Max Whitlock, and team Sky cyclist, Geraint Thomas.
The campaign will be supported by social, OOH and digital activations. The OOH creative was shot by Mark Bramley and sees the car parked outside some of Britain’s most recognisable landmarks, from the London Aquatic Centre to the Spinnaker tower in Portsmouth Harbour.
Richard Beard, communications manager at Ford of Britain said the car giant sees the campaign as "an ode to British progress in all its day-to-day glory."
