ONE Championship has now renewed its partnership with Philippines media giant ABS-CBN.
The initial contract was signed in 2016 and the event 'One: Kings of Destiny' achieved the highest rating of any martial arts program coverage in the Philippines, according to Nielsen Sports.
One Championship is constantly upgrading its marketing strategies to beat their rival Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). ONE Championship (ONE) believes it has surpassed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as top MMA promoters in Asia after the two went head-to-head to determine who reigned supreme in the Lion City.
Commenting on the association, Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and chief executive of One Championship, stated: “One Championship is proud to announce its renewed partnership with Philippine television network organisation ABS-CBN. The sport of mixed martial arts has seen an amazing year in the Philippines so far, and we are excited to continue this awesome trend of delivering a unique and authentic martial arts experience to fans all across the country.”
The Drum earlier spoke with Chatri Sityodtong about his plans to market MMA globally where he enlightened us about the growing popularity of MMA and ONE Championship. Last month, ONE Championship announced their partnership with GoDaddy.
Dino Laurena, head of ABS-CBN Integrated Sports, said: “Our continued partnership with ONE Championship is a huge boost to our advocacy of promoting sports, including mixed martial arts, to the Filipino audience. We believe that more than to just entertain and to inspire, sports can change people’s lives for the better."
