MEC Maxus UK leadership team announced amid merger reshuffle

Formerly MEC UK chief executive, Dormieux will lead a new management team which will include Anna Hickey, Maxus UK managing director, who will take on the UK managing director role of the newly merged companies, and Paul Hutchison, MEC chief operating officer, who has been named chief operation officer of NewCo.

“We’re merging Maxus and MEC to form a brand new billion dollar revenue media content and technology agency, dubbed ‘NewCo’ for now," said Tim Castree, global chief executive of MEC and NewCo.

"With such ambition, comes a need for brilliant talent to lead and inspire, and so today’s news is very exciting for us. Under Jason’s leadership, supported by Anna and Paul, I am confident that we have the right team in place to truly blend the best of MEC and Maxus and make NewCo UK a formidable future-facing agency.”

Hickey will take responsibility for developing client relationships and overseeing the new agency’s talent and culture, while Hutchison is charged with NewCo's communications planning, activation and commercial teams and for driving key client relationships. All three roles become effective in January 2018.

Nick Baughan, the Maxus UK chief executive, was yesterday announced as the EMEA chief executive of Essence, amid the Group M reshuffle.

The purpose of the merger is said to be to fund the expansion of digital ad agency Essence, in what was described by the company as "a very competitive marketplace".
