Target shakeout sees CCO Dustee Jenkins step down

Jenkins has given the last seven years of her life to the big box retailer but will now stand aside in favour of her deputy, communications vice president Katie Bolan.

Her departure follows hot on the heels of former colleague and chief innovation officer Casey Carl, who exited last month following a decision by Target to double down on its core business rather than push innovation.

Other key figures to head for the exits include loyalty marketing SVP Keith Colbourn and merchandising executive John Butcher. Further change came in the shape of marketing SVP Sammy Redpath who was transferred to India to head up operations on the subcontinent.

In the other direction Rick Gomez has been promoted to chief marketing officer.

The changeover will take place on 23 June and forms part of wider measures to address flagging sales.
