The creative agency boss will assume global responsibility for Bloomberg Media's sales, advertising operations, integrated franchises, consulting and marketing services.
He will also oversee efforts to “institutionalize innovation” across the commercial organization, the media company said.
He will be based out of Bloomberg LP’s global headquarters in New York City, and report to chief executive Justin B. Smith.
Benett was most recently global chief executive of Havas Creative Group, which includes the Havas Worldwide global agency network, the U.S.-based Arnold micronetwork, and all other communications agencies.
He stepped down from Havas Creative Group in January after 13 years leading the charge. In March the communications division merged with Havas Media Group to become two business units under one regional P&L, as part of Havas’ 'Together' strategy.
