Irish International BBDO has appointed Effie Worldwide president Neal Davies as its new chief executive.

Neal Davies

Neal Davies will take up the new role in August

Davies will replace Ian Young, who will become executive chairman following his 23 years at the helm of the ad agency.

Davies is due to begin the new role in August, having served as president and chief executive of Effie Worldwide for three years.

“In an ever-evolving world, I believe that Neal will make a significant contribution to every facet of our capability and in turn to our clients’ brands and businesses” said Young. “Neal has a depth of experience and a global perspective. He will undoubtedly add a new and exciting dynamic to our talented team at II."

Davies praised Young's work in building what he described as a "formidable agency with a strong and diverse client portfolio and a great track record of delivery".

He added: "His are big shoes to fill but I’m excited by the challenge."

Some of Davies' most noteworthy work includes leading the development of PlayStation's 'Double Life' campaign as well as running several successful campaigns for Absolut Vodka.

Prior to his time at Effie Worldwide, he was a founding partner at Naked Communications, the creative marketing and brand agency, with responsibility for leading the New York office.
