Fruitful changes at the top for Hull-based creative marketing agency Strawberry
Hull-based creative marketing agency, Strawberry, has announced its founder, Jonathan Leafe, will be taking up the post of chairman from May 2017. His role of managing director is to be filled by current directors, James Greenwood and Dominic Love, who will both share the position.
At the same time, Peter Gamble joins the senior management team as client services director. Peter, who is originally from Hull, returns to his roots after working at agencies in Leeds and Manchester, including long term stints in director positions at McCann Manchester and Charles Walls Leeds.
Jonathan explains: “James and Dominic have made a big contribution to the development of Strawberry for over 10 and 20 years respectively and the time felt right to hand the baton on to them to lead the continued exciting development and growth of the agency.
“This is what Strawberry’s all about. We have a fantastic team, many of whom started their first jobs at Strawberry. We’ve always been successful at developing talent, and Dominic and James have demonstrated there’s the opportunity here for everyone to realise their full potential.”
Dominic Love said: “It’s exciting to take on this position and although we’ve been heavily involved in shaping the business we have today, it’s now our time to step to the front line but with the full support of Jonathan to help guide us.”
James Greenwood added: “This is the start of Strawberry’s next chapter and we intend to carry on with the mission, vision and values that we’ve had since Jonathan started the agency in 1993. As we approach our 25th year, we aim to keep developing the agency’s innovative approach to creative, marketing and digital.”
Peter Gamble said: “I’m delighted to join an agency like Strawberry. Agencies are all about the people in them, how they work together and how they work with clients. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some very clever and talented people in my various roles over the years and when I met the team at Strawberry I just knew I’d found the right place to continue my career in Hull.”
Strawberry, established in 1993, is based at the new C4DI building in Hull and offers a wide range of marketing and creative services, including website design and development, graphic design, branding and digital marketing.
