DDB North America, part of Omnicom, announced on Thursday (May 11) the appointment of Britt Hayes as chief people officer.

Hayes joins DDB from Grey Group, where she managed creative talent and operations for the network’s New York office as executive director, creative management. Prior to Grey, Hayes was worldwide head of creative talent at J. Walter Thompson.

Hayes brings 18 years of experience in agency recruitment and creative management to DDB, and she is listed on The Adweek 50 list of top influencers. Hayes began her career at McCann in New York, spending 12 years at McCann as director of creative services.

Hayes will report to DDB chief executive officer Wendy Clark, working with the network’s 17 North American offices to oversee all talent and development programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and recruitment for the agency.

“At the very core of our business is people. Nothing works in our agencies, or in our industry for that matter, without people and the ideas and work they create. Investing in a role like this is a deliberate step to ensure the recruitment, retention, and development of our 2,000 plus associates of DDB North America,” said Clark.
