The second trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders has landed, providing fans a grainy CCTV clip from an elevator showing Netflix’s hero team assembled for the first time.

The video sees a coming-together of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage as the streaming giant to capitalise on its long-coming team-up, the jewel in Netflix's content crown and one of the best uses of Marvel properties on TV.

Now competing with ABC’s Marvel: Agents of Shield and Fox’s newcomer Legion, (which was launched with the aid of a glitzy mutant lounge), Netflix will have to generate enough buzz around its properties to entice more subscribers into its ad-free ranks.

The Wrap has noticed that the video features the timestamp 08:18:20:17 — it suggests a launch of 18 August 2017.

Furthermore, the IP address in the top left of the screen directs eagle-eyed viewers to the New York Bulletin, the newspaper featured in the series.

Back to the streaming giant’s second tease of the show following the original in July 2016.

Fox adopted the similar leaked CCTV style for one of its teasers promoting Logan prodigy Laura earlier in the year.

Teasers are one of the tools at Netflix’s disposal, it recently released a coded message to promote the return of A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2.
