Glasgow 2018, the multi-sport European Championships event, has appointed Stripe Communications as its digital agency of choice.

Glasgow 2018

Stripe Communications have already begun work on Glasgow 2018's digital strategy

The inaugural event will span 10 days and involves 4,500 top European athletes competing across seven sports- aquatics, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, triathlon golf and athletics. It is being co-hosted with Berlin, which will host the athletics, and looks to build on the legacy created by the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

As the digital partner for Glasgow, Stripe Communications will be tasked with delivering the event’s social strategy, campaign ideation, content creation and delivery of paid and organic digital activity across all social and web channels.

Stripe Communications will begin work immediately and, over the next 18 months, will focus on 13 key event milestones including volunteer recruitment, the mascot launch and the European Championships event itself.

Darcie Tanner, Stripe’s digital director, added: “This is a unique opportunity to continue the legacy of the Commonwealth Games and deliver innovative campaign activity across platforms and channels, and we’re excited to start delivering.”

The European Championships will take place between 2-12 August 2018 and will be broadcast across TV and digital.
