Become the Ghost in the Shell as Paramount Pictures partners up with Perfect Corp

Paramount Pictures has partnered with Perfect Corp to launch augmented reality (AR) app features that allow fans to look like characters from the upcoming Ghost In The Shell film.

The new technology allows uses to interact with their feature film viewing experience through the use of their smartphone and YouCam apps.

As part of the partnership, YouCam has created filters, frames and collages inspired by the film's female characters.

There are complete interactive beauty looks via YouCam Makeup for each character as well as branded photo frames which can be accessed through YouCam Perfect.

The live animated AR filter, Fun, allows users to interact with overlays that move with their face and show the behaviours of each character such as Scarlett Johansson’s Major.

“Perfect Corp is honoured to kick off its first official feature film collaboration with Ghost in the Shell,” said Alice H Chang, chief executive officer of Perfect Corp.

“The movie is the perfect platform to create this type of integration where modern life and technology intersect.”

Ghost in the Shell will be in theatres from Friday 31 March.
